Every day inside your head, you write the unique scripts for your own biography. Some of the chapters in your life’s story are funny, some are on-the- edge-of- your-seat risky and adventure-filled, and some of the chapters are filled with dark, stormy nights, fear and sadness. But they are YOUR stories, and they shaped who you are today.
Somewhere around mid-life, most everyone starts to wonder if their story ending will be happy…or if it will have a sad ending. The great thing about being the leading character in your story is that you are the author. You get to decide what to write. What action do you want to include in the remainder of your story? What elements do you wish to remove or change?
Many people wait too late to think about those two questions. Physicians and caregivers in hospital and hospice environments often hear people express end-of-life-story regrets. These five wishes are among the most common regrets they hear as ordinary people think of the final pages of their story.
Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan…and even speaker/success coach Tony Robbins have realized the value of having a coach. So have many of the most successful people on the planet. Successful people have coaches!
Why? Having a coach gives people an edge. They are able to get more out of themselves than they would on their own. People thinking “I’ll coach myself” are limiting their success potential. Can you afford not to have a coach in your life? It’s costing you already way too much if you are committed to a better life. You won’t regret it, and it can transform your life in ways you never dreamed of!
It's easy for many of us who are retired to fall into idle habits like watching TV too much, napping, and letting precious days slide by. After all, we're retired! After attending one of Jeanie's Octane for the Brain workshops, I hired her as my coach. Wow! She helped shine the light on many things I had not considered. During the process I set challenging goals for my post-retirement life. I am feeling energetic and younger than I did ten years ago. Thank you, Jeanie. You helped me more than you realize.
After the death of my spouse, I not only lost joy, I down-spiraled in every way possible. I was lonely, and I was angry! My performance and that of my staff members suffered. Jeanie started coaching me during this vulnerable time. She helped me focus on the core issues that resulted from the traumatic events in my life. Jeanie was very wise and intuitive throughout our year of coaching. She helped me understand my reactions and the positives of my life as well. She became a gentle inspiration when we met in person, and her mental and spiritual guidance stayed with me. I'm happy to report that over time, I gained a new meaning in life, regained joy, and I am helping others who have gone through hard times. Thank you, Jeanie, for bringing me back from the brink.
Jeanie has been coaching me for the past several months now, and I can say without a word of a doubt, her program has helped me immensely to move forward. I come from a background of being an over achiever, to having to reinvent the wheel of my life after a traumatic accident. Jeanie has the wonderful ability to capture ones gifts, and help to guide them back to the forefront of one's life. Jeanie 's coaching program has without any reservation, helped to tackle any limiting beliefs I may have from such a setback. I highly recommend Jeanie McKay as a Coach!
Jeanie coached me when I left the corporate world and started my new training and consulting business. She helped me overcome my fear of the unknown, my inner critics of "not good enough," and she championed me through every small success. With her support, I became "fearless.." That is the word she used to describe my new found courage. I took on new challenges one after another. Jeanie's coaching has unleashed a whole new potential for me.
Jeanie is the kind of coach who is grounded, smart, easy to talk to and happens to have a great sense of humor! She provides her clients with the opportunity to self-reflect and discover their deepest dreams that they may never have realized. Jeanie helped me set a new course in my life. As a coach she always focused on my needs and was never judgmental. She met me where I was. I loved her openness, warmth, and her upbeat style. Her gift of supportive nudging helped me spread my wings and take off in a way I would never have thought possible. Choosing Jeanie as my coach is something I will always be thankful for. She helps you believe in yourself.
I'm a clinical director whose workdays are long and intense. My tasks and high-level responsibilities made me feel like some stressed-out hamster running on a wheel. Jeanie helped me focus on core energy dynamic methods that really improved things for me. I was able to see how my thoughts and fears blocked my energy. I learned techniques for awareness, acknowledgement and action. This has not only improved my energy, it has improved my ability to get along better and to use coaching methods to enhance performance in staff who work in my department. Thank you, Jeanie. I would recommend you as a coach without reservation.
